I'm Interested in Y'alls Answers!!....

I'm not sure if this was discussed in class, but I thought it would be cool if we had a list of the shows, films, or anything else that we love and purposely "dive" into. The thing that you just can NOT get enough of and place a lot of time and energy into knowing all about it.

Leave a comment with your transmedia obsession.... Let see how many of us have the same thing in common...

  2. Star Trek (obviously)
I went back and forth on LOST for a while, but I did end up doing a fair bit of LOSTpedia reading when the show was on. I also am a huge fan of Six Feet Under, Homicide: Life on the Streets and The Wire, among others.

  3. Of course my favorite is any show affiliated with ESPN. (sportscenter, sportsnation, etc...)
But i do like the CBS lineup of shows.
    Two and a half men
    How I met your mother
    Two broke girls
    Big Bang Theory
those are the actual sitcoms that i watch the most.

  4. Dr. Who, of course! And Fringe, which has the signature JJ Abrams style with cryptic messages and a complex story arch. I wouldn't consider it to be heavily transmedia, but there is an online cult following and the creators actually give and receive feedback to and from the fans.

  5. Great idea! I feel addicted to HBO's "How to make it in America", currently in its second season. Can't get enough:) Plus, I am so looking forward to the fifth season of "Californication", reportedly staring in January 2012. And "Dexter", airing Sundays...

  6. I'm a Dr. Who fan as well as being a Jane Austen fan. Not sure what that says about me. I collect enamel pins online and particularly like anything small and found as opposed to large and expensive. It's the hunt not the acquisition in my case. I don't watch much television at all but in the past might have put myself down as a Star Trek Twin Peaks Firefly Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy aficionado (which I prefer to the word "fan"). I'm no fanatic but I like to absorb and then move on. I read books, have run a bookstore, and like owning books so my house is full of books. I asked my daughter what I'm a fan of and she said: Books. So there you have it. It's really words but books covers the subject nicely. I also like ink (i.e. pen & ink, calligraphy) and metal (i.e. stuff made out of it) with particular emphasis on street metal, utilities covers, graffiti and photography. I am fascinated by Vincent Van Gogh and would love to visit Amsterdam to see his museum. Perhaps that could be my closest brush with fandom.

  8. Oh, I forgot Doctor Who, I'm so ashamed. Actually, Doctor Who is very interesting, because the original show ran on the BBC from 1963-1989,and then was rebooted in 2005, but there have been tons of book,s there was a comic book for at least a while, and the BBC has also done a TON of audio dramas. So some of the actors who have played past TV incarnations of the Doctor are still making new adventures on audio (b/c then you can't see how old the actors are!). Doctor Who is really a huge transmedia universe.
